A look at Matt Millirons MTC-4001 Prestolite drive motor. This is what I found, and what was done to address it.

I couldn't remove all the red without damaging the insulation, but she looks a lot better than it did when I got it 8^)

Not sure why you'd need to fill the plate up with grease with sealed bearings being used! I didn't want this running into the motor after I got done with it so I decided to remove it.
