Not sure why you'd need to fill the plate up with grease with sealed bearings being used! I didn't want this running into the motor after I got done with it so I decided to remove it.

There was some battery acid corrosion between the housing steel and the coils. Guess the guy missed that (by not removing the coils).

I went to spread the coils a bit (for an inside picture) and the two halves broke. You can see that the connection was barely made and was cold soldered (metal not heated enough when done) to boot

Here's the other lead. As you can see, there must have been a pretty good gap being the paint has penitrated so well. This had been working for a long time, but was a breakdown waiting to happen, so I'm glad it happened here at the shop and not with Mat

I couldn't get the red off the fields either and Matt really didn't have the funds for a rewrap and I've been super busy so I cleaned them up and insulated them with a red insulation and then a second coat in a clear type. I then installed them with some

I then installed them with some new Nomex paper. The leads I wrapped in Fusa-Fab and baked till golden.

Well here she is all finished. I added some sleeving to the jumper lead for Matt. This is probably the best shot and shows the truest color. The motor tested great and I can't wait to hear that Matt's up and running. It was nice to get my eyeballs on
