About

My name is Jim Husted and I am owner opperater of Hi-Torque Electric. I’ve rebuilt D.C. Motors for 25 years for some of the toughest distribution centers around. Most of the people on the west coast and even some east coast folks have eaten food moved by the motors I’ve rebuilt. I was recently brought into the EV community by John Wayland via his twin 8″ motors we now call the Siamese twins. I hope this site can be used to help educate and spread the news that electric cars are here now!

  1. I am the lucky person who won the motor at the Power of DC. I have an EV but now my mind is thinking about all the possibilities. How does this motor compare to the one in the Kilacycle? I don’t want to put this up on Ebay, I want to build something with it. Tell me all you can about what I can do with this motor. I was thinking of putting it in a VW chassy kit car. Would that be to heavy a vehicle for this?

  4. greetings from South Carolina…I’ve recently discovered the White Zombie and of course led me to your site. Incredible. I was cheering my PC screen watching your motor and the Zombie blow away ICE “muscle cars” at the dragstrip….wow. And of course, the epicenter of EV drag racing is about as far away from SC as you can get. I hope to see the Zombie and that incredible motor in person some day. What a great skill you have, I would trade my desk job for yours in a NY minute….congrats, and keep up the great work for EV’s. Richey L. Greenville, SC.
