Orange Crush unveiling

Well Shawn Waggoner and Matt Graham just sent me some pics of the finished bike and well shes a beauty. What an awesome job you guys did on this project. These guys have been burning the watts every night preparing for the Battery Beach Burnout set for this Friday and Saturday. Along with the good news came some bad. The Yellowjacket will not be finished in time and so I get my first taste of what it’s like to be involved in racing. After seeing Orange Crush the wait for the Yellowjacket to emerge will seem like an eternity. I posted 3 pics of Orange crush in the Tiny Tim album. Orange Crush is now being powered by Mighty Tim of which I didn’t grab pictures of. The Mighty motor looks the same only it has just 2 terminals and can not change direction.

On another note Utah State sent me a pic of their motor installed and wired for series. I had wanted them to test it in series parallel to see what the differences are now I’ve seated the brushes and then to use that as the base data, but you know boys and their toys they went right to series, what can you do 8^ ). They got 200 yards down the path when a battery connection melted after someone forgot to tighten it back up, kids these days, LMAO. They intend to try again tomorrow so I hope I can obtain that needed data as to how this works in the real world. I was able to peel the OEM stickers off and reapply them after I had trimmed the housing even. I had wanted to paint it with the school colors but failed to find a suitable look in the short time I had to work on this project. Being I wasn’t able to get a pic of the finished motor (forgot camera) it was nice to get this one to add to their album so take a look.

  1. Wow — that’s a gorgeous bike! When you said it was a “pocket bike” I had gotten the impression of something a bit less substantial, like the cheap plastic toy motorcycles you see at Pep Boys these days.

This is the real deal though — a bike worthy of its new motor!
