Warp9 101 A peek into Richard Rau’s new motor

Hey all

Thought I’d put a post up about my first encounter with Richard Rau’s brand new Warp9. Richard is looking for some cosmetic adjustments and add-on’s and has allowed me to post some things I’ve found once I got a peak inside. First I’d like to say that this post is not to promote a Warfield vs. ADC war, but to take a motor and show you all what I like and what I don’t like to see inside a motor. Again this just my opinion.

First of all the motor ran awesome when tested, and I thought it had a nice overall look to it. The brush ring is made out of the GP03 broad which offers a higher heat rating as well as higher strength over the GP02 grade boards. All in all it’s a well made motor, but this one has a few issues that I noticed once I got it opened up. I’ve decided to add comments to the pics so you all can see what I’m describing as you are looking at it, rather than a long winded typed report. I’ll be posting more pics when I’m able.

Anyways I hope you find this educational.

Welcome!

Hey everyoneWell if nothing else this will serve as a starting web site for those out there wanting to stay tuned as to what’s going on here at Hi-Torque Electric. 2005 has proved to be a great year for us here. I’d like to thank all those who have used our services and for trusting us with their motors. I’m sure John Wayland had a moment or two where he must have thought, Ohh my god what have I let him do to my motor, LMAO. For those who do not know who John Wayland is check out his site.Jay Donnaway entrusted me to work him up a shortened ADC9, he has named Gamera. Gamera was the short turtle like monster who used to fight Godzilla. Jays looking to tame the two beast under the hood of his convertion. I only hope Gamera wins over the Zilla this time, hehehe.

Jay has a really nice site, so go take a look.

Lots more stuff to list here and so little time. I hope you all enjoy the pics and I will update and add as often as I can. My next post will be a Warp VS. ADC report. Cya then
