Hey all
Sorry for my sloth here at the site, and I’ll start off wishing all a great July 4th. I ended up getting up at 3AM this morning and figured I might as well use the time to enter some stuff here. I’ve thrown up a nice selection of stuff for you all to chew on so hopefully this offers some substance in lue of my long absence 8^)
I guess I’ll start with Damon Henry and his son Mike’s motor they named Swiss cheese. I thought I had posted an album but couldn’t find it so posted it again if it is there somewhere 8^) The story of how to turn a motor to cheese can be found here:
Next I’ll take you to a big GE sep-ex interpoled motor I had come in to rework as a series wound motor due to a lack of options in the failed sep-ex controller he had. It’s not as complete an album as I thought I had captured as things get busy for me, but here’s what I did to it, here:
Next we got Myles Tweet’s 1911 Hupp-Yeats Westinghouse motor made in 1910. This motor came in looking like it hadn’t seen any love in 100 years 8^o Poor old gal had parts of her guts ripped out to boot. This is a little piece of history here and a long term project for Myles, but the damn man’s been busy as a beaver on it, so I figured I’d better get a move on it. I’m hoping that by the time we’re through with this restore, it’ll be another hundred before it’s needing a go through. I stamped a little Jim Husted was here in 2008 mark inside for future motor dawgs to find 8^o and as a date to doc the rework 8^) Anyway, here’s what I got for Myles’ motor here:
Here’s a little selection of misc stuff, I had no better place to put, here: 8^)
Here’s the long overdue completion of the Jimpulse 9. It’s taken me much longer to complete than I’d had liked but I reworked a few things like a rear motor seal that will allow some 90 weight to bathe the slip ring seal as I didn’t like the thought of having to crawl under a car to grease it when/as needed (yeah hindsight, ain’t it great 8^) I happened to have had John Waylands original Siamese8 in the shop so lined these bad boys together for a photo. I’ll hope to have some data here soon and will post it once I get it.
Here’s a Warp9 I did for Bill Dale he wanted some mods done to here:
Anyway, this should keep all you motor people happy for a while (I hope) but I’ll try and make more effort to not drift off for so long this time (hey, Everyone needs to recharge their batteries)(or at least not drain them so hard 8^)
Hope you all enjoy
Jim Husted
